Stoughton’s Vintage Market & Retro Fest

9AM-4PM | Mandt Park, Stoughton WI

  • Market vendors will be set up along the newly renovated south side river path in Mandt Park. Free parking is available onsite, or a short walk over the river from downtown Stoughton.

  • Admission to the event is FREE. Small fee for vendors to participate. This is an event brought to you by Stoughton Historical Society and Friends of Downtown Stoughton. Building connections among people in our community, especially across generations, and explore the new river path that runs through the heart of Stoughton.

  • We will only cancel if there is severe/dangerous weather. Watch this space for any updates. Vendor fees will be returned in the case of a cancellation. For vendors, in case of sporadic showers, we recommend a pop-up canopy tent or tarp.

  • We’re still putting it all together but there will be kid friendly acties from a disco bounce house, fishing demos,  to art activities and games.

  • The list isn’t official yet, but food trucks will be on-site and just a two-block walk to all of downtown Stoughton’s restaurants.

What to Expect

Get your hands on some history and put some past in your future.
Meet people who love vintage character and items with stories. Market vendors will be selling items from before 2000s, quality items from the 70s-90s along with antiques and collectibles.

Vendors

Individuals, groups and professional vendors are all welcome to sell at Retro on the River.

  • For this event, retro or vintage item is defined as made before the year 2000. Items made or crafted before the year 2000 will be considered eligible for this market. Items from the 1970s, 80s and 90s are especially sought for this sale, like…toys, games, vinyl records, record players, posters, items with familiar characters on them, books, signs, colorful glass, art, jewelry, tools, typewriters, fishing gear, garden stuff, dishes, clocks, furniture, rugs, game tech, lamps, machines….heck, why not a vintage boat or historic art photos/prints? No basic ‘yard sale’ items.

    Older oldies that would be concidered antiques and collectibles are welcome too. We hope to see household goods and décor, in various styles including “Cottage Core,” “Mid Mod,” “Post-Modern” and “Industrial”.

    Condition: All items should be clean and in good condition. Nothing political or offensive please. We want to build connections, spark wonder and facilitate joy. Any damage should be clearly indicated, nothing fake. No weapons please.

    Pricing: Please try to bring a mix of things to sell for a wide range of prices. You’re welcome to sell high priced items, but we don’t want attendees to feel “priced out.” Please consider pricing your items for a wide range of budgets.

    Vibe: Help us make sure this event feels, community focused, family-friendly, curated, historical and whimsically retro.

  • All sellers pay a booth fee up-front, and keep all of the profits of their sales. (Full refund will be provide if event is cancelled due to extreme weather.) You are allowed to buy up to 2  spaces if you need to.

    Booth Fee

    $50 for professional vendor

    $30 for artists/nonprofits/non-professional/member of Stoughton Historical Society.

  • 12’x12’ booth with  2’ isle in between spaces. We have a 2 booth vendor limit.

    Located on flat grass, no shade with near by parking and drive in drop off capability.

    • Electrical power not available

    • Bring your own cash box/payment methods

    • Bring your own table, chairs and canopy tent for shade and rain protection (sandbags and/or spikes for wind-proofing your tent)

    • Public bathrooms available on site for all

    • We request that Sellers NOT bring pets

    • First aid, Stoughton Hospital is less then a 5 minute drive away from the event

    • Photos and video of the event will be taken. Your participation in the event constitutes consent for us to use all images of the event – in which you might appear - in the future.

    • We plan on providing ambient retro music

  • 8-10AM: Seller unload and setup time window

    • You will know your booth location in advance of event

    • Vendor parking: enter parking lot off of S. Forth St. and follow road between Grand Stand and Stoughton Mandt Center building. It wraps around to a parking lot infront of water treatment facility. Leave front parking lot open for customers

    10AM-5PM: Market open to the public

    5-6PM: Seller clean up time
